Dr. Annapurna Satapathy, India – Honored at SDG Champion Prize Ceremony 2025Kathmandu, Nepal – December 28, 2025

The SDG Champion Prize Ceremony 2025, jointly organized by Human Harmony Nepal, Project 100, and the World Conference Council with the support of the Government of Nepal, recognized Dr. Annapurna Satapathy of India for her exceptional contributions to SDG Goals 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Dr. Satapathy is a distinguished social scientist and Ombudsperson for Andhra Pradesh, as well as a member of the World’s Women Forum and International UNICEF Council Fundraising Secretary. She serves as Project Director of the Community Development Centre in Vizianagaram, where she spearheaded an initiative that adopted 500 villages, aligning their development strategies with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Her international engagements include participation in the World Women and Environmental Assembly (USA), the Earth Summit and World Forum Environmental Conference in Rio de Janeiro, and the 2005 World Forum Conference in Johannesburg, reflecting her global leadership in sustainability and social justice.

Over a remarkable 35-year career, Dr. Satapathy has earned 211 awards, including National Level Awards, the Prime Minister’s Award, and the President’s Award, recognizing her lifelong dedication to social development and governance. Her work has focused on vulnerable and distressed remote areas across Andhra Pradesh, directly impacting 75,000 families through initiatives in education, equality, and community empowerment.

By honoring Dr. Annapurna Satapathy, the SDG Champion Prize Ceremony 2025 celebrated her transformative leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, both in India and on the global stage.
